T​​he Collective Advertising Group


No matter what your industry, people are purchasing products similar to yours everyday, but why aren't more purchasing from you?

The Internet has forever changed the way purchase decisions are made. Consumers are increasingly aware of all of the products/services that may be purchased, so your competition has grown from the companies who offer similar products, to those that are in the same price range. For example, if a consumer was online researching tennis shoes and happened across an ad for a print from their favorite artist, that $100 could easily be spent on the artwork instead of the tennis shoes.


In the example given, we showed how another product entered into the "Consideration" phase of the customer's purchase decision process and was able to motivate the consumer to purchase an item other than their original intent. It doesn't mean the person won't still purchase the tennis shoes, but in that instance another product moved higher up their priority chain.

The image below is a graphic illustration of the process every consumer goes through (including you) with every purchase decision and is the basis for how we help companies have their products move into the "Familiarity" and/or "Consideration" phase of the consumer's purchase decision process:

If we were to use a concept such as being hungry to illustrate how this process works it would be as follows:
  • Awareness - "I'm hungry"
  • Familiarity - "I am familiar with the different food choices in my area"
  • Consideration - "What am I in the mood for?"
  • Purchase - "I think I will have sushi"
  • Loyalty - "Edo Sushi & Steakhouse is my favorite sushi place"

In this example it is easy to see that if the consumer is not aware of your company (Familiarity) there is no way you will be considered as a solution to their problem. While you can benefit from "word of mouth" and referrals, a consistent and multi-channel marketing and advertising strategy is essential in building strong brand recognition and ultimately increasing sales.

The Concept


The Collective Advertising Group (TCAG) was created by our founder Elgin Carelock, who used this technique of shared advertising in the re-branding of a retail center in 2015. The concept was simple, he worked with 18 different retailers to develop the proper imagery, messaging, and frequency, then went to the advertising mediums that would best accomplish reaching their target audiences. Mr. Carelock negotiated rates for the various mediums and each retailer paid a small portion of the negotiated fee. The end result was the retailers were able to take advantage of a robust marketing and advertising program that put their company names and products in front of the audience they desired. 

The primary focus of our program is to offer small businesses an opportunity to increase brand awareness by offering an advertising array (billboard, print, social media, radio, and mobile), that will reach your target audiences with greater frequency.  If we look at it from the perspective of the purchasing metric above, if your company desires to increase sales and market share, you have to rank higher in the "Consideration" phase.

How It Works?


Our first meeting is to analyze your company’s current marketing and advertising strategies to determine how well you have identified your target audiences, your level of brand awareness among those audiences, and how we can expand your brand recognition. TCAG is not intended to replace your current marketing efforts, but to enhance the effectiveness of your efforts through a better understanding of consumer behavior and the purchasing process.

Once we have performed the marketing strategy analysis, our data analysis team will develop a profile of your target audiences and their segmentations, our creative team develops messaging and imagery that will best reach your target audiences, and our business development team will provide you with strategies to enhance market position, build strong digital marketing and social media campaigns, as well as choose the advertising mediums the data shows best optimizes your product positioning in the customer purchase decision process.

Outdoor Advertising

All of our membership packages include six months of outdoor advertising. The purpose of the outdoor program is to move your company into the "Consideration" phase of the purchase decision process.

Our creative team will help your company develop the proper imagery and messaging and your campaign will be circulated on a network of eight digital billboards strategically located across Ocala/Marion County. This will allow your company to be seen by more than 20,000 people per day.

Print Advertising

Additionally, all of our membership packages include three months of print advertising. Once our team has had an opportunity to analyze your target audiences, we will recommend one or more print mediums that have been proven to reach your audiences.

Our print partners include local newspapers, industry publications,
and specialty magazines (i.e. Healthy Living, Fitness, Automotive, etc.). The purpose of the campaign is to strengthen your company in the "Familiarity" phase of the consumer purchasing decision because of the longer shelf life and the ability for the consumer can spend more time learning about your company.

Social Media Advertising

Finally, all of our memberships include target social media advertising.
With so many choices in social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, etc.) it is hard enough to determine which is best for your business, never mind managing each platform and producing fresh, relevant content.

Our team will help your company develop a social media campaign that will create a multi-channel social commentary that will engage customers and move your company into the "Consideration" phase of the purchase decision process.

Finally, your company receive monthly effectiveness reporting to determine if our results are consistent with key performance indicators establish during the development stages. If so, we will seek to increase the effectiveness by dedicating a larger portion of your marketing mixato that medium. If not, we will do a deep dive into the analytics to determine what occurred differently from previous predictions.
